The Franches-Montagnes Cheese Dairy processes the milk from about 20 producers from Noirmont and the surrounding area. It produces Tête de Moine AOP, Gruyère AOP and the four semi-hard cheeses Noirmont, Roc-Montès, Franches-Montagnes and Taignon.
In addition to its modern production site, the cheese dairy has a dedicated space which showcases its unique know-how. An immersive experience gives visitors some insights into the daily lives of the milk producers. Looking through the huge windows visitors find themselves at the heart of the production and can discover the different stages involved in cheese making. Visitors are then invited to use all their senses to taste different cheeses.
Awaiting the most discerning of cheese aficionados is the cheese dairy shop which stocks numerous cheeses and other local products. The site also has an outdoor area with picnic tables and play equipment for children.
